This uphill par 5 is all about the first two shots. The conservative play is to play your tee shot down the right side of the fairway, an approach shot, again, up the right side of the fairway, leaving a simple approach to the green, whereby the bunker and silver birch tree to the right side of the green are to be missed at all costs. There is a huge amount of the green complex to the left of the bunker/silver birch and a shot leaked to the right will always create an incredibly difficult up & down.
The aggressive play for the accomplished golfer is a drive up the left side of the fairway to create the best opportunity to attack the green in 2 shots. But beware, the large tree 100y from the green, on the left-hand side, will be sure to scupper an approach shot that is mis-struck or hit offline. Be sure to factor the tree and the green side bunker into your strategy for your approach shot.
